A building's façade creates the first impression of its architecture. Over time, exposure to weather conditions, thermal movement, and the natural aging of materials can result in cracking, localized deterioration, and the gradual loss of the building's original architectural character.

This project involved the comprehensive restoration of the façade of a single-storey residential building, with the objective of repairing age-related deterioration, restoring the original architectural geometry, and enhancing the overall appearance of the property. The completed works combined modern restoration techniques, meticulous craftsmanship, and a carefully developed colour concept tailored to the client's vision and the architectural character of the building.

Prior to the commencement of the works, a detailed technical assessment of the external envelope was conducted. All identified cracks were carefully opened, cleaned, and repaired using specialized repair mortars designed to ensure the structural reliability of the façade and prevent further deterioration. Areas of deteriorated render that had lost adhesion or structural integrity, including sections with concealed voids and localized delamination, were completely removed.

Particular attention was given to the restoration of the reinforced concrete elements. Damaged areas of the concrete cover were repaired using professional concrete restoration systems, after which a new render coat was applied to create a durable and stable substrate for the final architectural finish.
One of the project's primary objectives was the restoration of the façade's architectural geometry. During the rendering process, all wall surfaces were carefully leveled to achieve perfectly flat planes, while corners and window reveals were restored to precise 90-degree angles. Curved architectural features were also accurately reconstructed, preserving the original plasticity and visual composition of the building. This level of craftsmanship restored the façade's architectural expression and overall visual harmony.
The final stage involved painting the façade in accordance with a bespoke colour scheme developed to reflect both the client's preferences and the architectural character of the building. To achieve exceptionally crisp transitions between contrasting colours, a professional multi-stage painting technique was employed using masking tape with edge sealing. This method prevents paint bleeding beneath the tape, ensuring perfectly sharp lines and flawless colour separation.

The completed project resulted not only in a significant visual transformation of the building but also in a substantial improvement in the durability and performance of its external envelope. Through a comprehensive restoration approach, the façade regained its architectural identity, structural reliability, and refined contemporary appearance while meeting the highest standards of construction quality and craftsmanship.
